It's not about the camera. It's about learning to see — light, moment, story — and that's a skill anyone can build with the right guidance.

I picked up my mum's old film camera as a kid and never really put it down. Self-taught, then sharpened second-shooting weddings alongside John Brandwood — and somewhere along the way, street photography became something more meditative: a way to slow down, be present, and actually see what's in front of me rather than walk past it.

That's what I teach. Not settings-first, jargon-heavy lessons — a simple, repeatable way to look properly, get out there, take the picture, and talk honestly about what you expected versus what happened.
Our Mission

Photography is for everyone, regardless of experience or equipment. The photowalks and lessons exist to help people see their surroundings differently, build real confidence with a camera, and connect with others who care about the same thing.
What I Offer

1:1 and small-group lessons
Hands-on sessions tailored to where you are — whether your camera mostly sits in a drawer or you're refining a personal style. We can work on camera basics, composition and the photographer's eye, street photography confidence, or editing in Lightroom and DaVinci Resolve.

Novice to Master course (coming soon)
A structured path through 9 stages — from getting comfortable with your gear, through exposure and light, to developing your own style and building a portfolio. Currently in production on the channel — full course launching soon.

Photowalks
Guided group walks in Knaresborough and around Yorkshire — a relaxed, social way to practise with feedback in real time. See Photowalk dates →
